Hi guys, new to the forum here, but i have a 1978 malibu slapped some 18x8 boss 338s on it and cut the factory coils so it lowered it about 3". It looks good, but now i have some TERRIBLE wheel hop when i roast 'em off, and some clanking, but that's the coil banging on the coil seat. Any advice on what i should do to fix the hop?

Get proper lowering springs, you now have springs that are too soft for the job, and you probably need suitable shocks as well.

Welcome to the forum!

Wheel hop usually goes away with lowering springs. If you're not against a little bit of welding, our 3010 relocation brackets will help restore the lower trailing arm geometry and may rid you of the wheel hop.

Agreed. The last thing you want is the spring potentially coming out while driving. You'll decrease the life of the shocks too if they are not designed for the lowered height.
