wheels and tires

Yeah, Just don't go with big ol' 18 rims with low profile tires - YUCK. Unless your driving a newer vehicle like a 300M, S2000, RX8 and such.

Heres a tip for everyone, anything over 15 inches shouldnt be on a GBody PERIOD In my opinion of course.

If I had money this is exactly what I would do with your car's tires and wheels.

Cragar SS Clasics - 14 Inch
BF GoodRich Radial T/A - 205/70R14 (Front), 245/60R14 Rear

I think your opinion would be in the minority these days. 14s just plain suck there is very few performance tire choices & sizes. Wider taller 15s were on all the performance gbodys and provide a lot better more suited performance tire options and sizes. (for both acceleration and cornering) The exception being the GNX which came with 16" wheels that most thought looked great and many use as an upgrade today useing GTA wheels. Not many tire sizes 245/50/16 & 255/50/16 but a pretty ideal balance offering both straight line traction and cornering ability. I think 17s still look good with the bodylines but you generally need a drag radial to get any decent straight line traction if you are makeing decent power. And yea I think 18s are geting too large for the bodylines plus they offer no acceleration traction but some like the look. Its when you go to the stuff so oversized for the car that you have to modify or lift just to make it work that things get really ridiculous.

The problem with 14" tires is that a lot of the good brands are starting to cut back on the 14" tires. Since little to none of the cars made now days come with them. That's actually the reason I switched to 15"s. The tires I wanted no longer came in a 14" size. And the guy at the tire shop said that a lot of companies are gonna be doing the same thing. So if your gonna spend some real money on wheels. I would go 15 or 16". Like it was said earlier, anything bigger just doesn't look right.
