Check the wheel width first. My78 monte had 14x6" wheels, not a 7" wide which was available on other cars as well. My factory tire size was 195-70-14, but I ran a 215 wide.

well not to totally go against my first post my dad told me last night we are getting new wheels so yeah these will be for sale this summer sometime probably

Thats a shame, but the diameter doesn't lend itself to handling, so I would end up doing the same thing. I wish they were made in a 17x8, I'd buy them.

okay i feel like i am redundant with my questions so please don't hate me.

okay we are getting 15inch tall rims. how wide can we fit without rolling the fender?
7in? 8in?

i repeat my dad does NOT want to roll the fender lip. if it was completely my car i would but i can't so thanks for the help

i have 20 in knock off wire wheels they are 8 in wide i have 255/35/20 tires and i have no problems in the rear you just have to have the correct backspace . my buddy ordered a set of rims non wire out of lowrider for his 85ss and when we dropped the rear they hit the inside . they were for a fwd car . offset is the most important aspect when buying rims

so i need to look into backspacing then? i know we are going with 15's is there a specific backspacing for those?

Should be able to run 15x8 with 4.5" backspacing with no problems, and running a 235/60R15 tire should keep the speedometer accurate.

You might go to summitracing.com and search this part number:

You'll like what you see.
