like CHRIS.O, I work in an auto parts store, and alot of what I come across is word of mouth... I bought my regal from a retail customer of mine several years ago, I recently came across a couple of my shop customers selling an '84 or 85 CAROLINA edition regal that is in decent and running shape, and another shop with "egg-crate" grilled cutlass with factory astro-roof and blown 307... I'm also the guy that the people with the g-bodied cars come to at the store....

I found mine on Craigslist. I don't remember what I was looking for, maybe just lookin to be lookin. I happened upon this 1 owner '80 regal a couple hours away. I gave the owner's son a call to talk about it. I went and picked it up later that week. I am one of the lucky ones. I got a great deal on mine considering the options it had. Some cars are over-priced, a few are priced about right and then a rare few are under-priced. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst when looking for cars.

Sometimes you just gotta be lucky. I wasn`t even looking for mine at the time. I was at my friends place just having a beer on a saturday evening when he starts telling me about a Lemans parked in the street a couple of blocks from his place. We decided to go have a closer look just for fun (at 10;30 in the evening) when the owner came out and asked what we doing around his car. I told him I previously had 2 of these in the past and was just checking it out. I asked if it was for sale and he said NO. I left him my number in case he ever decided to sell and he called me up 3 days latter. By 11:00 am that morning the lemans was in my yard. Right place, right time I guess

In florida people are starting to overprice them due to them being so popular in the the "big rim" scene. You can still find them but you gatta act fast if its on craigslist cause if its worth it itll be gone b4 you know it. Its funny how ive seen some very clean cars in the junk yards that definitely didnt deserve to b there. ANd to think, those cars were practically given away to the srcap yards. Gone are the days when you could pick up the local newspaper classifieds and look for cars. Incidently, I found my monte in the newspaper classifieds for $500. Ended up getting it for $400 and a used nextel phone. Thatwas back in 2004. Anyone remember the autotrader? That was a pretty good source. Now I think its craigslist and other online sites such as forums. Word of mouth and just being in the right place and the the right time also. I cant tell you haw many people asked me if I wanted to sell my car at a light, in a parking lot or getting gas. And that was b4 I did any thing to it.

Kind of the same deal here in pa. I had to wait it out on CL for a month or two until my car came up. My car was in a junkyard in the worst neighborhood in the city. The story as far as I'm aware, is that the car was junked, and the junkyard owner got it running and even used it as his personal car for a while, and pretty much used it as his beater car, then he sold it to me. Wait a couple months if you can and be patient, and you'll find a car.
