Hey all, i know this is a hot topic and i have found everything but where to find the actual tach to do the swap in from the clock. Is there any place to look that readily has them or reconditioned, ie: websites, etc... Also if i check a salvage yard what other cars tachometers would be a correct fit for the screws and electrical connections. Thanks in advance for any information.

Any '79-87 Grand Prix, LeMans, g-body Bonneville or Grand Am with a tach will work. '78 will too but they came in silver.
I suggest searching junkyards, craigslist, ebay or just asking around here. It shouldn't be hard to find one at all.

a note worth mentioning. after 78 they used white arms in the gauges but later used a burnt orange arm on the gauges. i know because i have a set of both. for the record my car is an 85 and has burnt orange arms for everything. i only mention this since mismatching can look bad in the dash. i'm kinda of OCD about such details and having mismatched gauges like that would drive me up a wall.

I have a GP cluster with a 5" VDO tach installed for sale if your interested. It's installed in place of the factory tach in the cluster and it looks stock, but much more accurate than the stock on was.

What are you asking for that??

i have a factory tach in my garage got for my 83 just in case the clock ever stopped working, but it is still clicking away

2nd request for update.

Several weeks ago you said you were going to check your garage for your tach and you would let me know - any update.

Please reply regarding status as I want to put the dash back together ASAP.

I have a full set, tach and all gauges, I believe from an '86 G/P. I would sell all, $125 shipped. I do not want to split them up. Let me know if interested.

Thanks,
Troy
