i have a 350 sbc to rebuild and i would like to use the BOP pattern th350 i already have in the car when i put the 350 in. which adapter plate should i use? there are 3 to choose from, 1 from TCI, one from trans-dapt and the 3rd is hughes transmission.
the first 2 are steel, the hughes' plate is aluminum. prices are also 54 bucks, 79 bucks and 104 dollars respectively. the summit site doesn't have a picture of the hughes plate but the plate for the trans-dapt looks a bit sturdier than the TCI plate but also costs more but how can you really base an opinion on a picture?

i'm just looking for personal experience stories as i will be damned before i yank out a perfectly good transmission just to have a transmission with the same bolt pattern as the engine.

i also couldnt decide which section to put this in so i put it here as the transmission is already in place. they also fall into the drivetrain section from summit. seemed apropos to me.

When I did my 455 swap I used an adapter plate from jegs. It was there own brand ( jegster)made from steel. The price was around $50.00. It fit very well with no interference at all. Like you I had a perfectly good Turbo 400 with Chevy bolt pattern. There was no way I was going to get rid of it
