Hey guys I got a question.. I went to the drive shaft shop looking to get my driveshaft cut . what I got is a buick regal with a olds 455 and a th400 transmission , with a grand national rear end. I took the drive shaft frm the 307 and tthe drive shaft I got from the olds 455 and the guy at the shop told me all he gonna use is my yorke because the rest of the driveshafts are junk. I feal this fool is pulling my leg because the driveshaft that came with the 455 was made for the car so How could it not be strong enough to hold the 455 big block ? This fool want to charge me 320.00 to build a new driveshaft with the th400 yorke , I dont have that money to spend on my son's car and I think this fool trying to rob me.. anyway am going to another shop later on today rto see what deal I can get ..
The big question is should I cut the drive shaft that came with the th400 and use on the regal ,or put the yorke on the driveshaft that came withthe 307 and use that instead.. what you guys think I should do here ..
Thanks warmonga...

Using the original YOKE is a common practice as these rarely go bad as they are hardened.....ANyways, either way your going to have to get the driveshaft cut as the original one for the 307 had the 7.5 rear you eill need to cut one inch for the 8.5 rear and you will also need to shorten it even more to accomodate the longer th-400 transmission...BY the time you do that and get it balanced your up there in the $$$ section...I had Fleet Pride make me a complete driveshaft, larger diameter then stock and they used my stock YOKE and I paid around $260.00, so his price might be a bit high...I'd check around though.

took the driveshaft to another shop , the guy told me he can cut it , put new joints on balance it all for the whooping sum of 140.00 bucks.. its on I told him..

The first shaft I took to The Driveshaft Shop was bent, so I had to take the driveshaft from the K10 that I pulled my long tailshaft TH350 out of. They charged me $125 to shorten, new rear yoke, new U-joint, and balance 8)
