So.... I lowered my 88 monte ss with 2" drop spindles and I cut a coil off the stock spring along with installed 2" Opg rear springs...it came out to 4/2.5" drop total.

Which s -10 springs can I go buy from the parts store that will give me a 1" drop instead of the 2" in the front. I thought that a s-10 spring would lower a monte ss 1" in the front but I'm not finding any info on it...I believe I have the f41 suspension too....had the f41.. any info would be appreciated!

The car is getting drag wheels ...not going for pro touring look.....

Nic,
Here's a chart that will help you. Many guys go with the MOOG #5660's. Very popular spring among the Monte SS crowd.

I think the 5660's will give you the 1" drop that you need...or close. I'm sure someone will chime in.

damn im struggling to understand the chart.. looks to me like the 5658 is the one i want ? The springs were changed by the previous owner and by the looks of how the front end sat I'm thinking it has the 5608 on it. it was higher than the rear. And I'm pretty sure he told me it had heavy duty springs on it. I'm trying to avoid going and buying some bell techs or something. I know moog offers the same quality but I got to figure out the 1" lower ride height.

I have not run the 5658 so I have no idea...sorry

the moog page does give an example..
Let's say you want to use the 5658 S-10 spring in your Monte to gain some spring rate. Assume you already have 5606 springs in your Monte. Let's install a set of 5658 and see what happens. We know that we already have a front end weight of 2142 pounds (assumed) or, 1530 pounds at the spring, but if you look at the installed height weight capability of the 5658, you can see that it can't support that weight, at that height, so it compresses until it can. In this case, it compresses about .5" further than the 5660 does for the same weight vehicle.

I think the 5658 may be close to what you want according to that so I'd install the 5658 and see what it gives you. You can always take it out and cut if you need to

I have 5662's for a Z/ 28 in my El Camino it only dropped about 1/2 inch. The plus side is I did not need a compressor to install them. 😀 They ride a lot firmer than the stock ones it really improved the ride.

I've also heard of guys using the #5658's. They're apparently a little softer, which would drop it a slight bit more.
If I'm not mistaken, the 5660's are V-6 S-10 springs, where as the 5658's are 4-cyl. springs.
I think I'd go with the 5660's..I plan to use them myself.
The 5606 and 5608's are F41 springs which tend to raise the car ride. Ask me how I know... :?

You right , based on the stuff I came up with... I punked out and ordered belltech a few mins ago. I'll post up results when I get it in the car. Gonna do new shocks and balljoints at the same time so it ll be next weekend before I can post . I took the car out on a 15mi cruise a lil while ago, there's definitely no way to keep it where it is and I just don't know what's gonna work best (s10 wise) so I said screw it. I've always had good luck with belltech stuff so we ll see how it turns out.
