whining noise

Hey guys need ur help here narrowing down a problem on my 87 regal v8.
So yesterday i was driving home from work , car was fine .
Once i pull up to my driveway , my car started whining from what sounded like the trans.
It did the noise in all gears and park .its a 3 spd.
Anyone know what this was ???

I'd take off the alternator belt and see if the noise is still there

I've heard transmissions whine before. Hard to tell without hearing it...but it is very possible it's the trans.
