I have white smoke coming from my exhaust...the first thing i thought was antifreeze mixing with the oil but when i check the dipstick the oil is jet black i even took of the valve covers on each side and the oil inside is jet black..anyone know the problem can be or could it be the gasket or something even though the oil isnt milky...please help

You could have antifreeze running into the exhaust. This is caused by a blown head gasket or a cracked head, I believe 😢

if it's coolant then the smell of the smoke would be sweet smelling....what kind of transmission do you have?..if it's a 350 the diaphragm in the modulater could be broken and the vacuum is sucking up transmission fluid which would also give you white smoke

it has a smell but it smells more like gas than sweet and yeah its a 350 transmission

Could be bad valve seals burning oil, pressure test the cylnders. Also easy way to check head gaskets is to presurre test radiator and see if it bleeds down.

i think if it was the valves it would start to smoke soon as the car is started...the smoke takes about 15-30 seconds to start

oil isn't white smoke.....take the vacuum lead to the transmission off and see if there is any transmission fluid in it
