I'm looking at the 3" rear exit exhaust that summit sells. My car is stock height. How do the 3" tailpipes fit? Also does anyone know anywhere else that sells decent exhaust kits?

i have a 3" exhause kit on my monte that i got from torque tech, back then they were the only game in town that had direct fit 3" kits for the monte carlos 78-88. I had to do some trimming on the pipes nothing big, it fits great. Heres the big but, the clamps that come with the kit really suck, they are the normal ones you buy at autozone and you cant tighten them enough the clamps would bend and you could still wiggle the pipes loose with the clams on it. I got some band clamps that wrap all around the pipe and clamp down alot better, but i am going to get the exhaust welded up as soon as i can. Now if you dont have alot of power say upwards of 450 horsepower i wouldnt recommend 3". anything lower than 450 go with 2.5" instead. I am pushing over 600 and 3" is good for me but you can definatelly hear me a mile away.

oh, pypes exhaust and torque tech both sell 2.5" and3" exhaust kits and will fit better thean summit or jegs

x2 on the 3in being too big for most engines. you want as little back pressure as possible but more important is gas velocity. if the exhaust gasses slow down, they become turbulent and that screws up the flow. slow flow means that you wont have any scavenging effect. if you keep the velocity up the gasses will exit clean and they will scavenge well. i'd talk to Pypes about your engine combo and whaty they recommend in terms of size. you definately want their x-pipe. and their kit is mandrel bent 409 stainless steel.
