I am sorry i mirepresented my rear tire size they are 295/50/15 the ones I run are made by starfire model sx5000 I think firestone has the same size available. I have had my tires for 5 years and have lasted quite well(i only drive this car in the summer months) about 4k per year many burn outs have been done with them! you will need to order different rear rims for the correct backspacing/offset.
I run 235 60 R's on the rear of my 80' Cutlass but 15" wheels with more narrow 60's would not work. I had slight turning interference, but the big problem was the tires hit the front fender wells even on moderate bumps, and this was with 1" spacers under the F-41 frt. springs and new HD shocks.
I believe the 78" to 80' "G" bodys have less frt. clearance than later models. I'm still trying to find what frt springs will allow the use of 15" wheels and 60 series rubber. Anyone running 15"s on a 78' to 80' G body?

I am running 15 X 7" wheels in front and back^^^^^on my 78 Monte .I am also running stock springs. I have 255 x 60 x 15 BF Goodrich radial T/A's in back and I think I am running 195 x 60 x 15 BF Goodrich radial T/A's in front

I have a 78 regal with 14 on the front and 15 on the rear with 275 tires on the rear. I have adjustable air shocks so I dont know how it would ride with just regular shocks. Only problem I have is when I go in a deep dip or if i turn a crazy left but I think thats only because that spring on that side is messed up and havent gotten around to replacing it. I have pics in my album if you want to check it out.
I have fit 245 50 16's up front, and they tend to rub a bit on hard bumps and full lock turning. I have since rolled the front fenders and trimmed back the inner fenders to eliminate the bump rub, but still have to trim some more to get it perfect ( I will post a thread about it with pics when I get to that point). I also bowed the fenders slightly, and reformed the contours with filler so you can't tell it was done. As for the rears, I have put 245's there as well, but there was still a little more room to work with.
kind of off topic, but what is the best looking tire combo for 14'' olds ralley wheels? hoping for bigger tires in back and a little smaller up front, i think i hvae 205s all around now
205/70/14s are 25.4" tall. Add 245/60/14s 25.6 tall in the back and your good to go. The other good combo is 215/70/14 25.9 tall up front with 225/70/14s 26.5 tall in the rear. They both look good just a matter of preference. The shorter combo helps a little bit with the normally already too tall gearing. Firestone Firehawk Indys and BFG radial TAs have all these sizes. I have had better luck with the Firestones.
