JBreun , how does a wider rear gain you space?
backspacing...

They are 16" Trans Am/GNX wheels, I have 215/65R16 on the back but I was wondering how big I can go (preferably a 275 tire) but want to know if anybody has done this size before?

It doesn't unless you have a set of wheels with the wrong backspacing for your car.

The issue with 16" wheels is finding tires for them. They just aren't popular anymore. I don't believe you can get anything bigger than maybe a 255.

I am running the 16" IROCs, which are similar in shape and dimension to the TA/GNX wheels. I am running 245/50R16 all around.

You MIGHT be able to go 255 in the rear. I would think you might need a small spacer.

I would not recommend 255 for the front... not even 245...

With the correct backspacing & 10 in rims u should be able 2 safely run up 2 a 11 or 11.5 in tire thats what my grandpa runs on his 86 Grand Prix.

Friend has a GNX. He runs the factory wheel & tire size 245/50/16 up front with his pick 255/50/16s in the rear. Fits & looks great no adjustments. Never seen a 255/60/16. How tall is that?

Edit Found one on tirerack 28" tall. That could be interesting.

i got gta rims with 255 on all 4 corners.
