hey guys,
been lurking around here getting info for a build i a m doing for an old hod rodder wanting a sleeper. i put a a tall deck 427 stroked to a 496 in an 81 supreme. man what i tight fit. he wanted to keep the air and man was that a pain to work around. but all is coming to an end and i am needing exhaust. this beast needs 3" and i cant find anyone who makes a system for it. i can find 2.5 but thats a no go for this motor. motor is a 496 10.5 to 1 with grumpy jenkins 345 heads, comp custom grind of 306 ,310 and 715 lift on a solid roller. has a dart dominator intake with a 1050. so definately needs 3". has any one used 3 and are there any issues with clearence. thanks for any help

I'm running mandrel bent exhaust. With a notched crossmember it will fit fine. Cleareance over the rear axle is the tightest spot. It can be done. I don't know of any kits that big, you will most likley have to have it custom fab.

pypes sells a 3" xpipe system and a 2.5" you can get with many different muffler options or none at all and also your choice of ss or gn tailpipes

heres a preview,in this pic the alt is gone and it has 4150 style carb with 4500 adapter, alt was bad had to send it back. found 3' exhaust reasonably priced at ta performance

the 3" kit for an A body from magnaflow will work . the nice thing being that it all slides & clamps together & if you need to pull the transmission out, it all just unbolts easily !
