Just picked em up and I wanna know if these rims and tires will fit under my 82 cutty. They are Mickey Thompson n50-15 Tires. Just did measurements.Theyre 12 inches wide. The rims are 15's I believe. From the back from where they bolt up the rim has a 4- 4 1/2 inch space to the outer rim ( this is the side the frame is on). The space from the middle where it bolts up to the face has a 6 1/2- 7 inch space (the chrome side). I dont care if they stick out. I just wanna know would they fit without rubbing?wheel spacer?

When you measured the backspace, did you measure just the rim or the rim and tire? If you did just the rim, then you have to also account for the bulge of the tire. Looking at your pics there's alot of sidewall bulge that could add to the total backspacing.

My guess right off the bat...they'll rub. On the frame and if you don't have airshocks/bags or taller rear coils...the top of the fender. Yeah, they're gonna hang out your fenderwell. Some states/cities that will get you a ticket.

Also, check the tires real close for any weather cracking. They haven't made an *N-50-15* size tire in so long I can't remember when they quit. Get me the "DOT" number off the sidewall and I'll tell you when it was made.

When I measure the backspace I measured the rim but the rim and tire is about 4 1/2-5inch total backspace. What about a wheel spacer or something? Theyre not cracked at all. DOT 3/96. They've been selling N50-15's at Summitracing for forever

You don't want a wheel *spacer* over 1/2" thick even with longer studs as they put more stress on the studs.A wheel *adapter* on the other hand is much safer. The adapter is bolted to the hub and then it has studs you bolt the wheel on to. It actually extends the *hub* out. Much safer but more expensive too.

The DOT date being a 3 digit number indicates the tire was made the 39th week of 1996. If it was made in 2006 it would have been a 4 digit number such as 3906. Those tires are 13 years old! I work in a tire shop and deal with dot dates on a daily basis.

I know on both counts it wasn't what you wanted to hear. I'm just trying to keep you safe and wath out for your well being.
