FE3X CLONE, thanks for the information and pictures. I do like how that looks and I actually like the rims too. Just curious what kind are they?

They were American Racing Holster wheels. I liked them because I felt they had some similar design cues of the original SSIII's had.

Hey guys just wanted to give an update on what I was thinking on wheels. I kind of tossed all my previous wheel prospects out the window and as of right now I'm planning on and looking at Centerline Retro Wheels with some Nitto tires. Fronts 245x45 on a 17x8 wheels with a 4.5 backspace and on the rears 255x45 on a 17x8 wheel with a 4.0 backspace to make them stick out a little more.

No offense to anyone, but why so small on the rear? My Grand Am had 4.5" backspace all around but with the 270/40 on the rear my tires were as close as a the 255/45 appears to be on the 4" backspace, and from the rear the wider tires look super, not spradled out as narrower tires on wheels with more negative offset can look. In other words, less distance between the tires under the car but the same distance to the fender on the outside and a beefier view from the rear.

my car has 2" drop spindles with the 5664 moog springs up front & 5413 spring in the rear . wheels are 17x8 with 4.5 B.S. on all 4 . Tires are 245/45/17 . plans are to replace the 245 in the rear to 275/45/17 . front rubs a little @ full lock

No, that's fine I appreciate any posts or concerns. There is definitely a possibility that I can go with some wider wheels in back. But for right now this is a good start (for me) with the information I received and from what research I've done. I can always go bigger if I see how these fit on my car as I'm sure they aren't going to last too long! 😀

Randy,

How did they get those cars that much lower? The only way I can see is springs. If that is the case, can you give us some part numbers?

I did a search and came up with this thread.

I have a '85 Pontiac Grand Prix. I'm thinking about going with either the chrome Cragar Eliminators (either 15" or 17") or the REV classic 100 in chrome (16").

The Eliminators come in a 15x7 with a +4mm offset and a backspacing of 4", a 15x8 with a 0mm offset and 4.5 backspacing for the 15's. In the 17's the come in a 17x7 with +6mm offset with 4.25 backspacing and 17x8 with 0mm offset and 4.5 backspacing.

Here is the Eliminators:

The REV classic 100 wheels are 16x7 with 0mm offset and a 4 backspacing. And 16x8 with 0mm offset and a 4.5 backspacing.

Here are the REV classic 100:

What would be my options with these wheels as far as tire sizes on my 85 GP? I have narrowed it down to these two wheels but can't decide on either one. I would appreciate some advice on this if possible. I don't want to order these and it not fit right. What backspacing would I be good with on my 85 GP? Thanks in advance.

And I was thinking about doing 225/50 in the front and 245/50 in the rear. And running the x8's in the rear and the x7's in the front.
