Will this wheel fit

Usually on a Gbody the backspace is within a 1/2" plus or minus of 4" backspace for a 15" wheel the best way is to take careful measurements to figure out what will fit best on your El Camino since fitment varies across the different Gbody's and tolerances are kind of loose on these cars.
Forsure thanks I appreciate the help man I’m 17 and just bought my first car and I needed the advice, I’ll take some measurements and see what 15” wheel would fit better with a 275/60r15 👍🏽

I like running a 275/60R15 on an 8"-8.5" wheel which is taller, a lot of people like the 255/60R15 which is shorter.
Is a 275/50R15 a big size difference from 275/60R15 ? I would like a shorter tire to avoid rubbing on the tub whenever the car is tucking.

Tire size nomenclature:
275 is the width in millimeters - to convert to inches simply divide by 25.4 (in this case 275/25.4=10.82)
60 is the aspect ratio - this is the side wall height as a percentage of the width, in this case 60% or 50% of the width
15 is the rim size.

So to figure actual tire size of 275/60R15 is as follows:
Width: 275/25.4=10.82
Diameter: ((275/25.4).6)2 +15 = 27.99

So a 275/50R15 would be
Width = 10.82
Diameter: ((275/25.4).5)2+15 = 25.82

Google is your friend: there are a ton of tire specs out there including height and width; you can even compare sizes on some sites.

Since this is your first car, is it your only car? Stuffing a big tire out back looks cool, but isn't remotely cost effective because you can't rotate them for maximum wear. Maybe you're independently wealthy like Ricky Schroeder; I don't know.
