I bought precision brand window sweeps for my 86 cutlass supreme which has the wide chrome on top of the door and the issue is the fitment not sure if these are the wrong sweeps they have a extra lip that gets in the way

1st, I'd say contact the people where you bought them and ask. They might have sent you the wrong sheetz.
I ordered a set from Mike's Monte (forum sponsor), and I have a MC. They fit perfectly and appear to be better than the factor units in terms of fitment. I believe he might have the Cutlass sweeps as well or the MC sweeps are the same. I've bought multiple items from him and have called him to order and ask questions - he's been great about answering my questions. IMO the vendor should be able to answer the phone and answer a question if you have one. If the gy bought the from won't do that, then find one that will and send those back.

So I tried contacting the seller and asked for instructions and he said sure don't so he kindve came off as a dick and they are good quality its just that bottom lip seal gets in the way because you have to use extreme down pressure to try to get the screws to start and I got half of the screws in and it was impossible to get the other half In just doesnt seem correct for my application
I know the window sweeps that Rock Auto carried fit Ok on my 88. Do they make contact near the front? I used RTV to take up the small gap. They are different sweeps but the wide chrome trim sweeps are no longer available. My PUI window sweeps fit crappy on my 70S, actually had to modify the front hole to screw on.
