if you really think this war is won, why don't you go sign up for a couple years in a green and tan suit and ask them politely to not deploy you to the sandbox.
then when they respectfully deny your request, ask your higher ups if you can just NOT go out on patrols.
then when THEY respectfully deny your request, and you go out and see the WAR for what it REALLY is, rather than what some unrelated, biased third party has to say, you'll change your opinion of the state of the war in Iraq.
that's the reason why the news isn't boasting about us winning the war is because
A: we're WINNING, but not yet victorious.
B: nobody believes the media nowadays, and the media knows it, they'd rather wait for the day they can say "president X has given the final order, and the final troops will be withdrawn on X day" than post "we're winning" a whole buncha times.
C: remember that good ol' picture of Truman holding the newspaper with the headline "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN!"
