Sounds like from the placard description that it was probably the Billie Harvey car.

Kind of odd how it was redone as a Tim Richmond car though. I believe all of the original Tim Richmond/Blue Maxx cars started out as Regals and Cutlasses in 1981 (M.C. Anderson/Cale Yarborough). Then when M.C.'s operation closed and was taken over by Raymond Beadle, the chassis' were reskinned to Lemans' after they were legal again to use. Then through 1984 Pontiac urged the team to use the Grand Prix body as the Lemans hadn't actually been in production as a street car for a few years. By 1985, all of the cars were reskinned as Grand Prixs.

Compared to the "competition" at the time (Thunderbirds), the GM Gbody cars really were stock bodied. The front fenders and 1/4s were basically handmade, but every other part of the body was a factory piece. A lot of times the trunk lids still had the original bracing.

The 80's was the last decade of "real" stock car auto racing. The 90's weren't bad, but everything after that to the present just sucked and still does. Probly why I rarely watch it. And when Earnhardt died at Daytona it just went downhill to the point it's not even fun to watch. Used to be, run what ya brung. Now there all out there in cars that are pretty much like the cars used in the I.R.O.C. races. No fun.

Quite a bit of knowledge there. It was sharp looking to bad it wasn't raced. Would have looked really good on the track.
