Hello everyone winter is finally approaching and time to put my cutlass away I have a spot in side it's warm and rodent free. Should I put the car up on jack stands? Or would that cause the frame to bend slightly? Also should I cover it with a car cover or just leave it uncovered? What about the brakes getting rusty? And the fuel tank should I fill it with none ethonal fuel? Should I also start the car and run it through the gears during the winter? Sorry for all the questions just a bit worried

Non ethanol fuel and add some Stabil. A car cover is great if you have it. Most of my project cars end up on jack stands over the winter, but not for storage purposes, haha. The brakes will be fine if they get rusty, you don't want to put oil or anything else on them, as that will ruin the pads.

If you can, it wouldn't hurt to start the car mid winter, but I don't think it is critical. Make sure you disconnect the battery though.

I keep a couple of my cars in my garage which is heated and the only thing I do is keep them on battery maintainers and never had an issue.
A car cover is a good idea and if it is nice out I might run them for a little bit mid winter.
The Monte I will at least crank over a few times throughout winter so the same valve springs are not constantly open.
Now one of my other cars I just sent to my buddies barn for storage (not heated) and for that one I bought a CarJacket and also put STA-BIL in it and it is also on a battery maintainer.( I have always used Schumacher)

When I put mine away I get it warmed up real good so that it hopefully burns any condensation out of the oil.
I put some StaBil and a small bottle of gas line antifreeze in with a full tank of gas.
The battery is unhooked and I take the rubber floor mats off of the carpet.
I also like to wash the exterior and clean the interior beforehand.
Then I spray some anti fogging oil down the carb with the engine running.
This year my buddy suggested putting a little bit of 2 stroke oil in with the gas so I did that too.

Wipe down all the window seals (the smooth ones, not the 'fuzzies' with Armorall to keep the glass from sticking. Agree on the battery float charger and the fuel stabilizer. The alcohol in today's junk fuel likes to attract water, then the alcohol evaporates and leaves the junk behind. Out here, there is one station in 150 miles that sells non-alcohol fuel. Fill the tank after putting in stabilizer and gas-line antifreeze. Run the car a few times over the winter. If you have AC, turn it on to circulate the oil in the charge - keeps the compressor seals from drying out and leaking. If critters eating your wiring are a problem, some mothballs in and old sock under the hood have been known to keep them away.
