My 83 elcamino doesn't ave delay on the wipers. Can I change the motor and switch and it work or is there more to it

Is the motor in the el Camino the same as the Monte Carlo?

Yes, and there's nothing more...a delay wiper motor and corresponding switch.

Yes, providing that the years and type of motor are similar.
 
I looked up a 83 wiper motor and it was slant on its side with diff mounting holes. Maybe I got the wrong pics from google.
 
I did that swap on my 82. Took all the controls and motor from an 85 Monte Carlo SS. You need to run a power wire for the controls. It's a little complicated, not impossible. Look up your question on the net, I think it will guide you to Malibu Racing forums. There are wiring diagrams there. I followed it, ran a new hot and it's great. I'm not sure, but the earlier Malibus switched the negative and the newer ones switch the positive.
 
yeah but if i use a new motor for my year and the switgh for my year it should work no problem right???
 
A new motor and switch from your year MAY work. You still may need to swap the wiring from a donor also. The later otors have one displaced mount hole that you need to deal with also..
