Yes, it will come through the firewall behind the glove box at the top of the carpet. Unplug the computer, its behind the kick panel and remove the harness. There are 2 screws in the engine compartment that hold the harness to the firewall.

Don't over think it and confuse yourself. Everything you need to made the engine work is the harness that is located under the power brake booster on the driver's side of the fire wall. It is very easy to swap a v-6 to a v-8 in a gbody.
