wires under the hood..help

hello.. I have a 85 Monte non ss with a 4.3 EFI (throttle body).. just tryen to clean it up a bit, under the hood..theres a few wires I would like to get rid of, but dont want to mess anything up with the computer, just woundering if i can unhook the wires goin to the vapor canister ( round thing, driver side wheel well towards the front?.. then behind the throttle body theres a plug in with 2 vac. lines goin to it.. one of the vac lines isnt hook up to anything..Also.. wats some good ways to make it look better under the hood? I want to keep it F.I V6, i just it to look nice..

Don't unhook anything.

If you want it to look nice, keep the hood closed. 4.3's aren't worth showing off anyways.

I wouldn't unhook any wires or vacuum lines... In some form or another it will get to the computer and effect drivability. 🙁
Now if your looking to clean it up a bit then I would suggest removing and painting what you can then pick up some wire looms they sell many different colors (for instance I have orange). If you just want to tiddy it up you could just go with black. Well thats about all I got.... Good luck when your done or even in process I would like to see some pics . 🙂

If it is a completely stock engine I wouldn't even remove the charcoal canister. Take it to a car wash and spray the engine bay down real good (cover anything that you even think should possibly be covered) and then get yourself some type of vinyl/plastic protector and shine it up

buy some newer wire looms and try to re-route some wires if possible to keep from using looms everywhere in every space. As long as you use the correct size wire and solder and don't cut or remove any you'll be fine.

Why? The vapor canister has NO detrimental effects. It does recover gasoline vapors that would have been lost otherwise. Yeah, it's not exactly a measurable improvement in gas mileage, but at $4 a gallon, why let the fuel just evaporate?

I was wondering why nobody really talks about 4.3's, I'm an owner of one myself and I kinda understand him wanting to tidy up (not to the point of unplugging or removing anything :? ) but whats the stigma on 4.3 fuel injection running the throttle body?
