Oh my god... I forgot how much drama goes on in the work place, at least every place I've ever worked at.

Today one of the drivers got written up to corporate for this and that, mostly for being a prick he called one of our counter guys a "****sucker" and accused him of ripping him off. He told our boss to "stick it up his *ss" because he made him wait about 5 or 10 minutes after he clocked out to get his pay check, personally I would have fired him on the spot. And he has had multiple complaints made against him by customers and random people for how he drives and for his behavior. But anyway he got a letter of reprimand saying that if he doesn't get his act together he's going to get fired, so then he proceeded to call the veterans administration, state representative, and demanded a hearing with corporate. Since when does being a veteran entitle you to be an a-hole? You're not guaranteed a job in Pennsylvania unless you can prove that it's because of discrimination you can be fired for any reason or no reason at all... And this guy has done plenty.

The really uncomfortable part is he had me read it out loud to him because he can't read worth a damn... Then was trying to tell me it's all lies and get me to take his side. I just had to be like "hey I wasn't here when any of this stuff supposedly happened... So leave me out of it". I've been back three weeks and already it's getting crazy again, I don't get paid enough to deal with the customers AND drama from co-workers.

Oh man I feel your pain buddy. I have worked a couple retail jobs. Dealing with the public is hard enough, having shitty co workers is just icing on the cake. Sounds like the guy has some emotional growing up to do or some type of issue he needs to resolve with himself. I have had co workers that did absolutely nothing, hid in the warehouse when customers were upfront, sat on cell phones and chatted with friends while I am at the counter with a line of people. I know you realize this already but DO NOT get involved. To me work is a place to go to support myself and family. I do not want to be best buds with everyone. I just want to clock in do my job and go home to hang out with my real friends not co workers. Sadly now a days there needs to be a paper trail or one disastrous event to fire someone. Keep your cool, put up with the sh*t and hope that your supervisors finally get enough of a trail to fire him and defend themselves in court if need be.

I will share with you a story of a company I worked for having to make a paper trail. I worked at a Sherwin Williams retail paint store for a few years. The store staffed 4 people. Manager, Assistant Manager, Lead sales (me), and a couple day a week guy. I opened and closed the store a couple days a week, neither in the same day, usually anyway. Well the assistant was a drunk. I knew of the guys reputation locally. The man did great work while he was in the store but he failed to open the store on time. He opened about 3-4 days a week. We would get complaints from contractors asking why the store wasnt opened up until 7:30, 7:15, etc when it was supposed to be open at 7am. These late openings happened about 5-8 times a month. In my opinion that is totally unacceptable especially when you are being paid a 40k year salary with an annual bonus that could take that number close to 50k. This went on and was documented for about a year before he was finally let go. I stayed out of it as much as possible. He sometimes would call me and ask if I could open the store for him that morning. I would of course do so but not before I called my manager and told him what the deal was. The best part, when he finally got fired the manager was in TN at a convention and the store was left to me for 3 days. Just me and a guy who only worked a couple days. Talk about busting your *ss.

Yeah coming in late and hungover is one thing when you just work there, when you're the manager that's supposed to be opening the store... That's a whole different ball game. My boss doesn't really care if people come in a little late as long as it's not a chronic problem, or get really bad like 15 minutes plus.

You would think he'd be grown up enough by now... My grand father is 80 and is a Korea era vet and so is this guy, so he's gotta be at least 75 I'd say. I think he's got that alzheimer's rage thing going on... Because he's just gets all pissy and abusive for no reason.
