How hard are they to install? Do you just need access through the trunk or does rear seat need to be removed?

I couldn't have to remove my rear seat because i couldnt get the 2 bottom bolts out, but i had enough room to squeeze a wrench in there to tighten the bolts. I wouldve removed it if i could though  . I put them in through the trunk area.

I just kept my eyes peeled for a used set out of a car somebody parted out.
That way they were cheap, and I didn't have to make them...lol

Taking the rear seat out definately makes it easier, especially when it comes to drilling the holes, and cleaning up the metal shavings.

At least use tubing if you're gonna make some, the kind in this link http://jeffd.50megs.com/Rear_Seat_Bracing.htm look really flimsy.

Ok so this is a dumb question. I noticed in the pictures that your Buick back seat areas look different than Grand Prix. Do I need these, would they make a difference on a Grand Prix? I have these from factory (minus the dynamat):

I would like to know of the back seat braces does one work better than the other, factory steel or after market tube brace? Thanks. Bernhard

I don't think it would make that big of a difference, but i would say the tubulars might be slightly better since they are in the "X" shape, preventing flex in all directions compared to the "V". Also because there are more mounting points... Maybe?? idk

I would agree, the tubular one forms double X, one on either side (X X) so I'd say it would definitely work better than the other. Either way you can make your own. I'm just lazy so $80 ain't too bad for me to just buy one, but I've been trying to wait it out till I find one out of a parts car.

Friends of mine have used 1/4" alluminum sheet to seal the complete area with screws & pop rivets . I plan to do the same with mine & will post up pics after I finish it .
