i personally would never buy a crate motor but what i am saying is that for the people who dont know how to do it and do buy crate motors 6 grand for any big block from carb to pan is not bad. i seriously dont think you could find many big blocks wheather olds, chevy, ford..... that is turn key for less then 6 grand. me personally, i laugh at people who spend that kind of money but thats because i know how to rebuild motors and i actually consider it one of the more enjoyable things that i have done to my cars. i think people who build their own get more enjoyment when you start it for the first time because you know that you were the one who created the monster. to say that the guy is out of line on 6 grand, i say no i would never spend that BUT there is someone out there that will. that guy is running a business, if he builds a motor for 3 grand and sells it for 3 grand then he is not going to make it too far! this guy had to go out and find the motor, remove it from the vehicle, tear it down, clean it, machine work, buy parts, re assemble...... get the point i am trying to make. we all build our own motors so we pay for it with sweat and blood rather then cash. i know guys that have dropped over 10 grand on big block crate motors because they want something that all they do is bolt in.
