Hi everybody! It's Richard Cummins from just outside Vancouver, BC. I saw all the great info here and I'm definately going to need it to bring my new treasure back to life - as a dyed in the wool Mopar guy I am in new territory - and liking it! 😉

I have worked in the 'Hollywood North' film production aspect of Vancouver for almost 20 years, and one of my hobbies is collecting Movie/TV cars.

My field of work is picture cars, stunt cars, and am a professional driver. When I can I like getting cars after production, sometimes it's for fun - sometimes they have some value. So after filming 13 seasons of Supernatural up here in Vancouver, I started scrounging around for some of the cars I knew were used in the series, and just this October ended up buying 2 screen used vehicles, and helped a friend get a somewhat authentic, somewhat Imposter Impala from the show.

My car here, is a rescue of the actual screen used Demon Hunter Gordon's car as seen in multiple episodes of Season 2 of the series.

His red 1978 El Camino with a honkin' 454 - found just exactly the way it was, discarded after filming.

The people at these sites were guessing at the year, but it's a '78:

So I think I'm just going to get it running - and not do a full restore even though right now it's a pile... I have owned several General Lee's and there is just something about leaving things be and just having fun.

Thanks for having me in your forums!

Welcome aboard Richard,
Thanks for the cool introduction.
Looks like a nice '78 El Camino. I'm sure you'll have a blast with it.

Hell yeah man! Supernatural is my jam. I love that show. Does it still have the roll out weapon shelf thing behind the seat? As for those Lees you had, were they replicas? Show cars? Movie cars?

I'm working on retrieving the sliding gun rack - I'm friends with the gentleman in charge of the Supernatural cars so there may be a trail...

My Lee's have some great history, and one day need to digitize all my pictures for web. I had 2, and both spent time with John Schneider and Tom Wopat - my second being converted from a 69 GL to a blue 68 for the Smallville TV show
