Are any of these h4 headlamps with the clear glass lens plug n play? Want to upgrade the headlamps on the 79 GP, but don't really want the hassle of splicing up the wires.

I bought a kit from Mikes Montes that includes relays, important for saving your headlight switch. I think Kirbans sells the same kit. I haven't installed mine yet, but I am sure you will need to run a wire to the battery for the relays. May not need relays if you opt for HIDs as they draw less power.

Thanks. So this harness just bypasses the oem electrical headlamp wiring? I wish they had a schematic on mikes website. How are the quality of the glass housings? I hear most of the Chinese produced kits are horrible .

I'll look at mine tomorrow and check them out.

you can get wiring harness cheaper on ebay....mine just showed up in the mail today. was $47 for harness and $80 for black glass headlight that are made to fit H4 bulbs plus it came with HIDs for low beams

I dug out my kit, I'll have to say that I am impressed with the harness. The wires are heavy and the sockets are ceramic. Two 80amp relays and 30amp inline fuse. All wires are terminated. It is plug and play, the only thing you plug into your factory harness is the left low beam, bolt the pos. to the battery, and the neg. to a bolt on the fender. The instructions are very good, not written by a sixth grader in India. The instructions say that these will not work with HIDs, but it doesn't say why.

Pic of the lights, the original bulb is still in the bucket with the ring. New ones are from Autopal, the original is a Wagner. These aren't the clear diamond cut.

Pics of the lights on, the one on bottom is the H4. It's brighter with a larger beam.

nice job on the lights, you'll be happy as well as the oncoming trafit that you didn't cheap out with the chinese junk diamond clear lenses. The pattern of the lights looks like the hella lenses I'm using with hids.

Thanks Xit, Seems like an easy installation. Novice question- but where about is the three wire connector located?

pontiacGP, They make Hella lens that fits our cars? I thought they only make metric sized lens for mostly euro cars, which size are you using?

The three prong plug is your existing low beam plug. You only need to bolt the red to your battery and a ground to the car on each side.
There are more pages to the instructions, I only pictured the harness page
