My Car is a 1987 El Camino base model v6 with a column shift, after rear ending a friend after school, I decided to not just fix the nose but put on the Monte Carlo SS nose. I got the whole front end (purple) from a guy in PA. It came with everything for only 300 dollars, the only thing I needed to complete the swap was the doors which I got later from a guy in Barnaget, who had a nasty Monte SS.

When I first got it

I don't have any pictures of the car with the doors on, but they are white lol.

Right now my car is at Maaco being painted, which I hope will come out good, considering I payed them 958 dollars............

Plans are a v8 swap from a 95-2000 Chevy truck (vortec 350)

12 inch Re Se Sub with custom enclosure

Hifonics Brutus AMP

Tweeters in door panels

5 inch round speakers in door panels

Dynamat - alot of the inside

half of black Interior Swap, keeping some tan pieces

Shift Kit for 200r4 trans

Heavy duty front sway bar

Bigger springs in rear to lift it up for that oh so cool muscle car look

some other stuff that I cant think of right now

pics! lets see em!

if you do all the prep work and take everything off that can come off then sand the whole car down it can be ok or really good but if you leave the prep to them it will start flking off in under two years  I had my fist 78 malibu painted by them when I was in high school for around 95x.xx looked good far about 6 months then got it muddy one night took it to the car wash the next morning and a bunch of the paint came off with the mud  never again :wtf: but good luck to you guys I just hope you prepped it before you took it to them

Should be a cool lookin' Elky when it's done.
It looks like the body lines almost line up. As far as using the Monte doors, Is it that the door gaps don't match up with the fenders?

Charlie's right about Maaco. If you do the prep work, it can ensure a better, longer lasting paint job. I had my wagon done back in '95. I did some of the prep work, but I cut corners here and there. The paint came out pretty nice, but I saw what I missed as far as body work and small dents. They don't prime the car. I think they just scuff it up and maybe wipe it down with Prepsol.
All in all, the paint lasted for a good 8-10 yrs. It later started flaking. They used cheap grade Dupont paint.
I ended up painting the airdam and fillers and small parts. They gave me a quart of paint and I added the Flex additive.
I think next time I'll buy my own products and supplies and do it myself....if I still have the gumption.

Definitely post some pics of the finished product.
