on my old malibu I installed a nine inch. because there housing are not cast you just weld on the control arm mounts once you have narrowed it and gotten correct axles. I went with the exact same demensions as the 7.5 I took out so that I would not lose my disc brakes. Oh yes you may require a hybrid U join and build a shorter drive shaft depends on the year of front yoke. As well not all nine inches are the same be very care full to order the corect parts.

There are several companies that offer a 9" that will bolt directly into the G-bodies. Strange, Moser, or any competent chassis shop can custom fab you one. TRZ Motorsports will be offering a Fab 9 rear end for the G-bodies pretty soon that will have any trick that you could want 😉 Hope to have some pics of it within the next month or so.

being on a budget , i`ve use an early bronco 9"
same 58" length
but i wanted to go 4 links ...so grinded down the leaf spring pads and welded the 4 link brackets
quite easy

U could also try a Currie 9in they make a nice one bpolts right in. I have one and love I did get it used from a guy a few years ago. Not paying full price is nice.
