I bought a lower hose for an 85 monte with 350 and trimmed and inch or two from the top that connects to the engine. I had to do some trimming on the bottom of the core support and use thin rubber as an insulator between core support and radiator. Here you can see the tabs i trimmed

Fuse was fine with the radio unplugged. The problem ended up being that i had the ground from the radio to a dark brown factory wire which seems to be the dim signal wire. I switched it back to the black/ground wire and capped off the dark brown wire. Everything works again.

From the radio There is only black wire to ground, red wire to factory orange wire for constant 12v, yellow wire that i have wired to fuse box, then the blue remote wire to an amplifier and the 8 speaker wires. Which would be for illumination?
