Thanks a lot Pontiacgp you definitely know a lot for sure and im thankful for you, and the other members for sharing their knowledge and experience it is a huge help. Thank you everyone for all the help and sharing what youve learned. I think I wanna go the 12 bolt route so I can still have a...
Now what a body rear will bolt in a g body? I know they make control arms to make the conversion and get the angles correct but what a body rear will go in and what modifications would have to be made?
Thanks a lot for your input guys, it was very helpful and i really do appreciate it. I think I am gonna use those brackets that V8 Rumble is using , thats a very good idea and would do exactly what I am looking to do to get rid of the springs holding the wheel cylinders in place. I was just...
I have not been able to find any solid information regarding A Body brakes on a G Body, but I would to go with A body drum brakes in the back just to get the bolt-in style wheel cylinders. I dont see a real need to upgrade to disc brakes as my previous monte I had with stock replacement and...
I had the exact same problem on my 86 Monte Carlo SS with true duals every time I'd hit a bump you would hear a loud bang. because of the size of the factory upper control arms it is a really tight fit with how the exhaust got run so when you hit a bump the axle tube would bang against the...
Im not too familiar with installing a chevy in a Buick but wouldnt you need both parts of the motor mount off a chevy the clamshells and the part of the mount that bolts to the frame?
On my 86 Monte Carlo SS I run BF Goodrich Radial T/A's and I love how they feel and the way they handle in all types of weather. I have heard a lot of good things about them and personally I love they way they handle and have no problems planting the power from a 400 hp small block.
Making a dash to mount my aftermarket gauges. I am fiber glassing the pod to add strength so I can mount the piece of smoked lexan that I am using to mount my gauges to. Im still a newbie so this is definitely a learning experiance
Thanks I'm trying haha I am a beginner at best. No the tach doesn't bounce I made a plate that mounts on the inside of the housing just for the flimsy plastic alone would never be able to handle the weight and the constant bouncing around.
Running a ZZ4 350 with Edelbrock performer rpm intake and Edelbrock 750 cfm carb and MSD streetfire ignition box, built 200-4R transmission 2800 rpm stall converter and 3:73 posi rear
I currently have that kit from summit installed on my Monte Carlo. It does not fit 100% perfect as with most kits that I've seen so it will take some tinkering to get it right. I am using that kit with 2466HKR shorty headers so I wouldn't know how fitment would be depending on what headers...
Agreed, there is some very good advice. I really wanted to build my own but lack of space and having none of the tools is a problem not to mention finding a good reputable machine shop. The ZZ crate engines from my own experience ( Have a ZZ4 350 in my Monte) and everything Ive heard are a very...
Sorry to hijack the thread but thanks guys, I wanted to be sure before I started taking mine apart. Ive never done anything like that before so I wanted to make sure there weren't any surprises.
