Well, last week I attempted to drive an 85' Camaro with a 486 that's been sitting in a barn for a year three hours back home. Broke down an hour into the trip - it wasn't pumping gas anymore. I towed it to my brother's house and last night I went to his house to retrieve the car. Arrived at 8pm...
I appreciate the input. I'm taking a loss by selling the car but I was also thinking between 3-4k. The wheel trim is in the trunk - I removed it all after I lost a center cap. I ran the pipes that way cause it was easy. 8)

My proud exhaust work. 2 1/2 pipes into Thrush welded mufflers. The W/Z manifolds are ported to 2 1/2. Exhaust exits behind the front doors. It's a little loud but has a nice stereo effect.
Installed this tach a couple days ago...
During the summer break, I purchased a non-running 307 cutlass as a project car. Fast forward a few months and thousands of dollars and I have a complete 455 daily driver. I've racked up around 1,000 miles on the rebuilt 455 :( but unfortunately I have to sell the entire car to make room for an...
The finished product at its best :P The body work is pretty obvious but its good enough. My brother is happy it looks like a respectable automobile finally.
We be jammminnnnnnnnnnnn! What yall think about the color? I'm way past the point of turning around 8) Hail damage is a motha but i'll find out the end result this weekend when I get some free time to throw some paint at it. Around 3hrs to mask the car. I'm beginning to remember why I switched...
I'm continuing with trying to fix the hood. Refilled today and shot in primer and blocked it out - it looks like it'll be straight enough. I definitely recommend not repairing hail damaged parts if replacement is available. Time/Material/Effort is not equivalent to the end result which may be a...
I've been in the auto industry for 5 years and I worked at both small and big shops.
A big shop (dealership) is the easiest to get into - they will take oil change techs that have 0 experience. The problem with a dealership is that it's difficult to do anything besides oil changes. After...
Here's the car right after being bought from Craigslist. My brother bought it with the intent to use the body panels to fix his hail-damaged car.
The parts-car isn't really too bad of shape besides the blown engine and the f'd windows and piles of cat puke. :puke:
Used engine from a...
I've done some bodywork in the past - but I have never encountered hail damage this severe. A tornado had blown threw Kentucky a few months ago - and subsequently I bought an Oldsmobile Alero parts-car and the owner changed the hood and trunk lid with his hail damaged parts. So I have an Alero...
I just put a 455/t400 into my 88 cutlass and love the power - but the shifts are way too soft. What are you guys running for shift kits in t400s? I want something suitable for the street. Is there much of a difference between TCI/BnM/TransGo? Any other advice is appreciated. Thanks.
