    Revell 1983 H/O Model kit

Thanks. Unfortunately no Facebook account; heck, as you can see have barely been on here (463 posts in 9 years). Haven't kept up over the years, work and travel is nuts - darn ambition and trying to get ahead.

Where do people get these prices?

I know what all of you mean; last week I picked up one of those free Auto/RV For Sale books. There, listed for sale at a "Muscle Car" stealership was an 85 MC SS, "low mileage, rare, true muscle", for $21K, along with another ad for a 1st-gen Camaro for $60K. I was very tempted to call and ask...

Performance Shop - Bristol, IL Area

This would be a general question I believe for most of the people on this forum. Not sure if this is the right forum BUT didn't want it to be based on a specific model because I have many across the spectrum. I am in search of a shop that has knowledge / expertise in not only our era vehicles...

    Revell 1983 H/O Model kit

Do you know if this model is based on the Monogram GNX and MCSS models or new tooling? Just wondering as I can see a having one of these powered by the 3.8 SFI.

    1988 Cutlas GT

69hurstolds is correct, a NC dealer conversion. Actually like these better than the so-called H-Os from that year; those things are horrible, with those crappy plastic skirts and such :puke:. Horrible way to end something that was decent; not sure how they're even considered Hurst/Olds' seeing...

    Torque Converter Help

Even though you need to do some homework and some hands-on work the 8.8 route can be a cheaper alternative than the 8.5 10-bolt as stated above. People think these are sacred rear-ends to the G-body but many don't realize X-Body... The one thing I don't like about them is they also use...

    Corvette "Ram Horn" Manifolds?

Ram horns were also on the full-size cars (just trying to tell you don't overpay for "Corvette" ram-horns). Some had a rear facing passenger-side manifold dump with a "Heat Stove" on it, basically a bimetal spring that would keep the pass-side exhaust somewhat closed somewhat until certain temp...

Exhaust System for Olds 307 Vin 9

Cquote="88hurstolds"]Headers might be a little bit overkill for a stock 307 but it shouldn't hurt performance. I would install an X-pipe to help with back pressure. Oldsmobile's like back pressure, it helps scavenge exhaust from the cylinders. 2 1/4 duals are fine for a 307. If it were me I...

    87 Olds 307 questions

It appears you checked everything and agree w/ jetsetw31, this will help in case there is a flooding issue. I could also help diagnose a weak pump or trashy fuel. A couple of things that haven't been asked / mentioned are: 1. Did you check the wires for resistance & to make sure they are...

    GBodyParts Olds Grilles

Was wondering if anyone here has purchased the Olds grilles from them and if so what were your thoughts? Fit, function, robustness, chrome , any improvements on the mounting posts to make them more robust, any things to look out for... Thinking of purchasing the argent / gray grilles for an...

    TH200-4r removal

I know a lot of the above information may seem like a lot and some may be jumbled but the main points are: 1. make sure the vehicle is properly supported / raised and that there is enough room to get the trans out once unbolted and lowered to the ground (if a lift is not going to be used) 2...

Anybody Build Model Kits These Days?

Same here; my GNX and MC-SS models have been lonely. And hoping that a G-Body GP is next... But REALLY hoping Revell brings back the Road & Track 1965 GT-350; I made the mistake of only buying one at the time, for the hella expensive price of $19 :blam: :blam:

    buying an 85 Olds 442

Very good purchase, my favorite color scheme of that gen 442. But as stated, fix that rot b4 it gets worse. Also, get rid of those horrendous exhaust tips and have the exhaust exit in stock location.

    Electric fuel pump

You may be able to also use the Monte 4.3L EFI setup. I believe this will be closer to the carb PSI setting but as stated above you will need a regulator. And please do not use a cheap (not just price but more so quality). Another reason to perhaps look for an MC setup is because everyone who...

12 sec Street mannered Tpi Cutlass build

The main thing people miss / forget is that the TPI is designed and based on the 305, with its small bore and puny ports. Remember this was at a time when you had to deal with ever-tightening emissions and most manufacturers were seriously looking at downgrading engine displacement and # of...

Difference between 5.0 Tpi and 5.7 Tpi ext and int plz help

Re: Difference between 5.0 Tpi and 5.7 Tpi ext and int plz h IF I understood you correctly your thought is to turn the 305 into a 355? If that is the case you can't use the 305 block b/c the bore is too small and it can't be bored out / honed to 4.030". They use the same stroke of 3.48" but...

    455 questions

Anubis has it dead on, if it was really a W-30 motor it would have the described items on it. Many people describe having a W-30 simply because they have a 455 and it came out a Cutlass. It's more than that. Do the research before paying the money for a supposed W-3-0 motor. Good luck
