    WANTED: BRAKES UPGRADE KNOWLEDGE

The ls1 camaro rear brakes are a simple mod and are simple to install. Just remove the backing plates, abudment brackets and calipers. There are a few nice write ups on this site. For the front, a simple upgrade would be to take 2wd blazer early 2000's. take the spindle, wheel bearing, rotor and...

    Cutlass Project

Great news, I finally figured out how to install the trunk shocks I got a while back from teh junk yard. I had to make another trip because I forgot to take pictures of exactly where they go but in doing so I ended up with a second set of those trunk shocks, and I also came across some t top...

    Trunk Shocks

This is what I came up with. It is close to where the factory had it but since I had to trim all the crap out where the strut bars were, it fit a little different.

    Trunk Shocks

I have good news and bad news. I went back to the yard where I got the shocks from and the car I got them from was gone. The good news was I found a monte carlo that still had the whole set up in it. So here are some photos.

    Trunk Shocks

Alright folks I'm trying to convert my trunk from strut bars to the trunk shocks from the late 78-81 regal I believe. I got the trunk shocks and brackets from a junk yard car, but it was a while ago and didn't take pictures of the exact spot where to mount the lower bracket to the wheel well. So...

    Cutlass Project

Haven't done much this winter but I have been trying to tie up some loose ends with the stereo. I got the box built so it will fit up on the rear shelf, built an amp rack in the middle on some drawer sliders for easy access, then have been working on laying out the wires the way I want them. I...

    Alero Project

Now that the alero is gone this left me my truck as a daily driver, a 2004 silverado 2500 extended cab with a 6.0. If you dont' remember I got marred in October and we brought a souvenir back with us we will have for a long time. We are pregnant with a little girl, so I felt I needed more room...

    Alero Project

Well it happened again, not even a year later. Towards the end of January I got another deer with the alero. It was still driveable but the insurance company estimated 2800 in damage and valued the car at 3100 so they totalled it. I can't really complain because there is no way I would have been...

    My Frame Off

I love the new trunk shocks. They look like they will give you way more room for your stereo. I am considering a few options myself kinda similar. I really am tempted to put them in the drip rail alon the trunk seal but dont think I can bring myself to drill a hole where water is suppose to run...

    mini starter suggestions?

Well thats a good question. I bought that exact same starter a few years ago and it fit without much of an issue. I had some issues with my timing and ended up frying the starter after a solid day of trying to get it to fire right.(New to that side of the build, so forgive the inexperience) I...

    Cutlass Project

Small update. Got to drive the car a few times, but the third time I was out my upper radiator hose got cut by the alternator belt. I had about an inch clearance, but apprently at high rpms it must have rubbed. I ordered a new one and am very happy to see that it is a different style.

    Cutlass Project

Great news. I took the cutlass back to the transmission shop and after a few hours of cohersion, we managed to get the servo set back in far enough to lock the retainer ring back in place. I was able to snap a few pics of the exhaust since it was up on the lift as well. I finally got to drive the car...

    Cutlass Project

I always said I couldn't get married until I could drive my car too it, almost made it, but I fell short. In the end it didn't matter, we had a beautiful day. I was a little disappointed the cutlass couldn't be there, but not for a lack of trying.

The color was supposed to be the original 1981 dark jadestone metallic green. It came out a little darker, but I love it.
