My cutlass did that when it had the original 260 olds motor in it. Check the intake seal. Mine would start and run, but the idle was high and wouldn't get above 20mph. At that point the car had 150k+ miles and I put in a new motor. But when I was able to get a good look at the back ofthe block I could see the intake seal along the intake and block had pushed out and was later told that it was more than likely the culprit.

The first place to start is with the codes. Pull the codes and post them. Why was the carb replaced? I'm guessing the car went over 20 mph before the carb replacement? Did you make sure the tv cable was put back on properly?

I pulled the codes and I got codes 21,23,44, and 45.

Is the TV or kick down cable hooked up? Is your trans fluid level good? It should shift in limp mode, just run pig rich.

Are you positive you plugged all your electrical stuff back together correctly? It's really not happy with all those codes and two of them are conflicting.
