Many of us have thought about it, and, some of us have done it. Of those, here are our fellow members willing to throw their hats in the ring to show off their home-done paint jobs!

What we lack in volume of entries we make up for in quality, so, will it be another wagon this month? Will a Regal Regal be king of the throne? Does Punxsutawney Phil's prediction of an early spring this month have y'all California dreamin of Malibu vibes? Or will the GBOTM be the full Monte? Let's find out.

Just a reminder, you can only vote once, and, no changing your votes once cast so be sure before you hit the click button. Now, vote for your February G-Body of the Month!

"My 81 Malibu. While it’s not completed, it still looks a lot better than it started. I’m enjoying it as it is, and it’s a lot less stressful than a nice custom paint job. And my kids are happy to ride in it as it sits."

"This is my 86' Regal, when I bought it there was a lot of rust repairs needed like inner and outer rockers, rear floor and body mount support, lower quarter panels and also both the doors and trunk lid were all rusted out.
I replaced the decklid and header from a blue Regal, the cream doors are from a Cutlass and the fenders are from a GN (passenger fender was rusting from the inside out) and I cut in the fender vents
I finished all of this pre Covid and then ended up having 5 weeks off for Covid and wanted to drive my Regal, I decided to just paint the cream doors with a couple cans of Rustoleum gloss black since I couldn't stand the color on there and I liked it so then I decided to paint each panel separately, I had a total of 3 days where it hit 50 degrees and was sunny here but windy.
I did nothing but Scotchbrite and wipe down and paint, it was so windy I couldn't get enough paint on the roof, decklid and hood so I scuffed those to make them flat black.
The ground effects I added were white so I painted those also so I went from 5 colors to one for about $60 in paint that I had to order online from Target.
Eventually I will get it painted but for now I drive it as is and it gets plenty of looks and thumbs up."

"This is my 1978 Malibu Classic Landau. I stripped it down to bare metal and removed the 1/4 top and the landau pillars and replaced them with regular Malibu 1/4 glass. I painted it in my home garage around 2002. So the paint has been on her a long time."

"Here's my entry. Painted in my garage by me. I'm not a body man by trade, this is my first full paint job. I've painted a panel here and there, but never a whole car. I have a few pics of the work in progress, but Photobucket has held them hostage. I'll see what I can dig up.
More pics here in my old thread. https://gbodyforum.com/threads/working-on-the-wagon.33260/
If I'm not mistaken, I painted the car approx. 10 yrs ago using Nason single stage 2K urethane."

"This is my 84’ Monte Carlo, I call it Janky.
Picked it up about 6 years ago with the intent to make it into a drag car, but thanks to finding a mint 84 GP in a local wrecking yard I decided to make it nice.

Way back when I bought it, I was already set on stripping it to bare metal to start with. That started with a lot of chemical paint stripper and can after can of etching primer to keep it sealed until I was done with the whole car. About halfway through, I got a sandblaster.
That was a mistake, I’m still shaking sand out of this thing, 3 years later.
Finally got it in epoxy primer, a year after owning it.

Fast forward 2 years, and it gets shot in base/clear for the first time in its life.

Fast forward another year, and the car is finally loaded on a trailer, headed for home.

Sans quarter extensions and a rear bumper, this is as the car sits now. This mess’ll be done this year."

Mine wasn’t really shot in a garage, so it’s not really fair to be in the competition. Bodywork was all done there, but I towed the car to a spray booth.

All the same, you have the most photo worthy pic with the kid sticking out the window. I think that would look the best on the homepage

Once again, tough choice. I am always astounded at the quality of the members cars.

Just my opinion, but, you did still do the work yourself.

Also, being a white finish, outside of seeing things up close and in person, I don't think any advantages of having had a booth to spray are visually apparent in the pics.

I remember back then the existence of the GnX X-Ray was first widely unveiled-publicized a long time ago now, and, despite all the work put into it, it just looked like a white painted clone. (For the record I like white cars, it's not a put down, just a fact they hide their flaws the best.)

As a practical matter, I'm not sure polls can be edited while running always, although, I'd hope you rethink where you belong. This contest is about the work put in as much as anything else, and, hopefully inspiring other members to tackle something themselves.
