my 78 has rusted floor pans on both sides in the back seat area what other kind of car can i use to get to replace the ones in my 78 will any thing work from 81-87 olds any ideas thanks

The problem is not the floor pans you can use anything to fix that except the el camino.

The problem you might have depending on how bad the rust is, Are the left and right side number 3 body mounts

Floors

Just replaced the FULL floorpans in my 88' T-top and for that back area, or any for that matter, If it's just a small area I suggest you find a good welder who does work on cars to just have some 22-18 gauge sheetmetal welded in. Again that just if it's a small area.. The full floors I replaced were not cheap, and they still needed to be welded in but I had cancer front and rear, and kemo was not going to cut it.. It all had to come out, you can check my post for Power Seats and check the pics. But trying to cut another piece of floor from another car just to piece it in your car is going to be more of a hassle for you, save yourself the time and find the right guy first to do the work, and I'm sure he'll tell you he'd prefer to just fabricate sheet metal into the floor and cut out where your bad areas are.. Again this is all based on the notion your areas are not that big..
