Hello, how do you tell if an odometer has rolled over or not? I am looking at doing a "trade down" on a 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix. The interior is immaculate and the engine looks super clean. The body has ZERO rust underneath or anywhere on the car period. That being said I did a CARFAX and it was of little help as it only has a history from 2003 and on. The only things I learned was it has only had roughly 1000 kms a year since 2003 and that their were two previous owners. I looked at the pedals for wear but they look good and the odometer reads 36024.9 kilometeres. i was told the numbers would be slighly uneven if it has rolled over but they are all straight. i would love to load up some pics of this car but I cannot get them to load here. :blam: At any rate any help would be greatly appreciated! thank you

In my opinion. If those aren't the original miles, then someone did one hell of a resto job. Looks mint.

I might check the driver's seat, driver's seat belt, and driver's door handle and latch. Do they look "used hard" or "hardly used" ?

IMHO even if the lady was 90 pounds (41 kilos) she would have worn that seat out - if it was a rolled over odometer.

Odometer does not look rolled over to me. I thought that once they have been rolled over, the numbers don't align up in a straight line (some numbers are rolled more/less than others)

On low mileage cars, I also look at the ball joints. Rivets=original, bolts/nuts= replaced. Ball joints last a looong time before needing replaced..
