I am needing a transmission for my regal and with gas prices not getting any cheaper i was thinking of going with an overdrive, the 200-4r would bolt up to the olds 455 engine and wouldnt have to do alot of mods to make it work.Option 2 would be to get a th350,the car has the original th200 in it that came behind the olds 307,i dont want to have to get the drivshaft shortend and from what ive heard the th350 and the 200-4r are all the same length, if im wrong please correct me.....im lookin at a 200-4r like this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 1553wt_939 2004R 200 4R Performance Stage 2 Transmission 600 HP 2 Years/Unlimited mile warranty <<<----it has a nice warranty .....let me know what my best choice would be.

You can see the 442 in my pics with a 509ci Caddy which is larger and has more stroke ie more low end torque than even the Olds 455. I went with a built 200-4R and it was a great decision for how I used the car. Torque breaks these transmission before horsepower. Actually that is true of all transmission but especially these. 500 pounds of torque REQUIRES a billed forward drum/shaft assembly if you ever plan to hook it up. I like the sound of a two year warranty but study it closely it may void big torque or otherwise just be crap. Warrantys are only worth the people backing them and what shop is backing this trans?

http://www.extremeautomatics.com Read their website. CK Performance is another excellent 200-4R builder. I have bought transmissions and stuff from both. http://www.robertpowersmotorsports.com http://www.cardomain.com/ride/1381227/1 ... ss-supreme

Oh yea fuel savings was a bonus to me. 1. Quarter mile gearing was important to me AND 2. low rpm interstate travel as like your Olds its a large bearing engine therefore it does not like extended higher rpm. 3. was that I could use a higher stall converter (match to your cam & gear) that locked up on the highway for cool low rpm travel. I did manage to get 17.0 mpg on an all interstate trip with Q-jet & 2,800 stall and believe with the same gears that I would have been lucky to get 12 with a th400. Bob Powers got 15 mpg hwy and ran 12.3s at 110mph with a 455 Olds gbody and a Q-jet despite a good bit of cam and a 3,000 stall. Dwight did even better with his 455, Q-jet, higher stall see his site.

you should do some searches in the transmission section, this has all been covered a million times. I say go with a 2004r for your 455.
