Typically, only the bottom filter is readily serviceable. Can't recall the part number off the top of my head. A478C or A487C comes to mind, but I could be wrong on that.

As described previously, the canister CAN be dismantled and rebuilt with pet shop activated charcoal bits, but not recommended unless you have some skills.

TIP: If you DO want to rebuild your canister, replace the foam "charcoal retainers" upper and lower when you get in there. The foam degenerates over time and even if it looks good, replace it. It's likely around 40+ years old and it's just time. Any similar open cell foam should work. Once it goes back together you'll probably not have to worry about it for the rest of your life.

Nobody makes replacement vapor cans for G bodies anymore. G bodies use a unique vapor can that lacks built in control valves.

As well you know already it's GM p/n 17064622 if you need to search for a new one. Whatever you do, don't lose those mounting clips. They're unobtanium. The canisters are getting to be unobtanium as well.

17075824 and 17075849 are other numbers you can use for the canister as well. 2 port units, too, with no extra valves, etc.

If you have a 307, then 17085929 is the vapor control valve. Might as well replace it while you're at it. Diaphragms don't last forever on those things. Cheap insurance.

The canisters would still all work, although the parts info callout says . The 3.8 uses a mirror image vapor canister control valve though from the V8 job due to placement and hose routing. Same function.

GM p/n 17085918. Apparently it's in the long hose going from the canister to the carb.

Here's one dirt cheap. Genuine GM ACDelco.
