I test fit the rollers I'm using on my 67 Firebird on the 83 Grand Prix I just picked up and they seem to fit. The problem I have is deciding what size tire to use. The rims are 15X8.5 all the way around. The tires on the rims are:
front: 225/50/15
rear: 295/50/15

I think the rear may be a little too wide and know that 255/60/15 should fit better, but I cant help but think I can and should go wider like say a 275/60/15
For the front, should I use a 225/60/15? The max rim size on tire rack shows 9" width for this size tire. The outer edge seems pretty close and almost even to the fender so I do not think I will be able to get away with a 235/60/15
Also, if I go with the 255/60 for the rear, can anyone post a pic, I've searched but been unable to find a picture
Thanks and I included some pics so that you guys can see the wheels on the car

are you not having rubbing issues with those rims? And those 295s?

IMO, our cars look better with taller rims, and those 295/50s won't look as good as 275/60s. The taller tires will give your car a nicer more raked stance as well.

I'm actually in the process of getting new tires for my rallys, which I'm switching to from my IROCs... I'm running 15x7s up front, and 15x8s in rear. I was going to do the stock 215/60 upfront, but I like the way my wider 245/50R16s look right now... so I'm gonna go with 225/60s instead.

outback, I don't think 255/60s would be a much bigger improvement over my 245/50R16s, so I'm gonna go with 275/60s to fill up the wheel well a bit more.

I have'nt driven it yet, but from the looks of it, I will probably rub on the quarter panel lip with the 295's. I'm just test fitting them to see how it looks and if they would even fit. The rims are free since I already had them, which fits into my low budget theme. I think they would be o.k if I rolled the fender edge, but 275/60 rear and 225/60 front is what I'm thinking I should get for tires. I'd just really like to see pictures of this setup on a G-body. The tires on the rims currently are really old and probably not safe to drive on. Are you switching to your new setup soon? I'd really like to see some pics.
Thanks for the response

unfortunately... "soon" is taking forever now...

I'm also on a budget too, so I took up an opportunity to have my wheels powdercoated for free (or cheap) thru a contact 10hrs away.

I can't afford the shipping back, or the trip out there, so I've been waiting till someone's on their way and could bring them back for me.

long sotry short, it's been over a month, and I dunno how much longer it will be. I haven't even bought the tires yet.

but I will do pics when I get it setup...
