It might be the difference. I know new belts stretch a lot, so I should be OK. I find V belt sizes need to be 2 sizes smaller than stock due to stretch. I wish there was a good explanation of the tensioner markings.

From the research I have done, it's the same pulley for the GM TBI full size v8, or s10 v6. Below was taken straight from the Dorman catalog.

Product Details
Part Number:950K6Weight:0.50lbsWarranty:1 YRNotes-V main drive.
Belt Construction:K-SectionBelt Material:EPDMEffective Length (in):95.08Effective Length (mm):2415.032

You can see here that the belt you are using #950k6 = 95" long. The 2 hashmarks on the tensioner are where the arrow is supposed to be located when the belt is new. The 2 hashmarks are to indicate when the belt is worn out of spec. Your current setup may work... but I would suggest placing your ratchet in the tensioner pulley with the belt on, and make sure you still have some movement to compensate for a possible belt that is too small. If any doubt... remove the belt and return it for the #960k6 ( 1" longer ). OR 970k6, 980k6 etc. As suggested before, remove belt and get your Daughter to hold the tensioner at the middle of the 2 hashmarks, and measure with some rope, to take the guess work out of it. Keep us posted.
BTW I would like to know the diameter of your F150 crank pulley? I would like to compare to my 1992 Mustang 5.0 crank pulley.

Well, I almost ****ed the new belt but should be stretched now. The belt pulled to the inside of the A/C compressor. There is some leeway on the tensioner so it should work fine with the current belt. Good to have my Daughter's boyfriend on the key, stopped it super quick. First off, I am not blaming Larry but double check the passenger side bracket where the really hard to get at bolt goes through by the fuel pump. I may have enlarged the hole trying to make it work before on my 94 Z71. The helicoli went part way in the hole and cockeyed the bracket. I will have to add an insert or carefully grind and add a washer so it sits flush. I will measure the crank pulley tomorrow, it had the right 2.5" depth. I think it was around 6.75" diameter if I remember correctly.

Another question if Larry is following this, why wasn't the adapter made the same thickness as the helicoli? Available material? It would have made my issue impossible, would have butted up and made it more solid all around, there is some flex. Just curious is all.

Here is my solution, plus Permatex Cold Weld.

This might be an important detail that was missed, the mounting holes on the back of the chevy brackets need to be drilled for clearance for the keenserts that protrude from the front face of the adapter plates.

The adapter plates are 1/4" thick because that is the required dimension to get the ford pulley and the chevy brackets to align.

The reason the Keenserts protrude is for added thread engagement and stronger threads. Without the extra thread the bolts would have only a 1/4' engagement into Aluminum max.

Also my belt tensions very high also, I use a pry bar inserted between the two pulleys for the tentioner.

I should just copy the design of the "other guys" crank pulley adapter. It could be shipped from person to person, and this would save quite a bit of money shipping the crank pulley back and forth.

Christian don't worry about your belt getting messed up from climbing over the AC pulley. Mine did the same before I added the support from the intake to the back of the AC chevy bracket.

So both brackets need opened up so the inserts sit inside? That makes way more sense if that is the case. I have an adjustable turnbuckle with one side bent close to 90 degrees.

IIRC 9/16" is the required drill size.

FYI The factory chevy support bracket for the AC works perfect for this project. It just needs a little more bend added to one of the ends.

Thanks for the reply. I had that bracket but cannot find it. Now to find 9/16" drill bit for a 3/8" chuck. I think even my press is 3/8". Unless that got stolen too.
