Pig to the rescue! Electric start on the generator only works if the battery is good. Jump start- no dice. 2 benchtop carb rebuilds later,I find the stuck needle on the inlet. Drained the probably 10 yr old fuel, Gum Cutter as starting fluid, and it is now almost running on both cylinders. J-U-Ice is restored enough to have hot water and a few lights.
Power company says 11p. It was on when I got home. I heard a chainsaw when I went to feed the neighbors kitty ,then down she went. I didn't see any major damage on the way in.

Woke up at 2a to the ceiling fan blowing down. Great! It's back on! Go downstairs, throw the transfer switch, aaaaaaand nuthin'. Still out this morning. 😒
I got power here but it seems to be monsoon season in HMS Jersey so I'm sure our power is short-lived
