well ****. I recall back in the day ( say 82 or so ) that the neighbor had a good white Datsun car on the road and a really decent parts car on it's side in a 1.5 car garage inner city YYZ. Back then I lusted after his next door neighbors 68 Beaumont and thought the import was junk; :)
If you traded a T-Type for it I can only imagine what they are worth now.

Only down side I would see in the car is the slush box transmission, they really need the man pedal in them.

A buddy of mine picked up a pair of those a few years back.
One decent, one a "parts car" which actually came from Paul Newmans race team.
The "good" one got completely taken down, and then the the built 327 SBC in the corner got measured, and squeezed under the hood.
2 years later its a done street screamer in triple black, and looks like something Darth Vader would drive.
You'll have fun, best thing you did was not buy a rusty one!(y)

I don't know any car guy who wouldn't like that car, neat cars. You probably made the right decision, since you don't miss the T Type. Helps when we sell a car on our own terms. Many of the regret stories is selling a cool car is for some family mobile out of necessity.

My T Type wasn't really that nice, it needed a paint job and interior. And it's fine, I have a Grand National too, I didn't really need two turbo Buicks.

Bonus is parts for the Z are significantly cheaper than the Buicks. 🤯

Really nice Z cars seem to be going for a similar price range as really nice Grand Nationals. This Z is solid but not super crazy nice or anything, it's about as nice as the T Type I sold (T Type don't go for as much as Grand Nationals even though they're basically the same thing other than cosmetics).

I agree. If I end up keeping it long term it will definitely be getting swapped out for a 5 speed. It looks crazy easy to swap.
