This door panel seems different than other G bodies

Its also different than the several videos on the subject

I can't for the life of me get the armrest to slide forward, all the clips popped, and the screws came out of the pull handle

Any advice?

Arm rest does not slide forward like a Cutlass. My lower had a few screws through the plastic into the door, that were hidden by the upper panel. Mine had obviously been off before so I can't say if they were there from the factory or not. They didn't match each other so at the least, a screw had been replaced.
I had to pull the upper first. It tucks in under the lower at its bottom. Pull the lock knob, then it's clips along the front and rear edge (Christmas tree style). You already have the screws out from under the casket handle.

There is a picture of the door with the panel off in post 514 in my thread here....
I don't know if that will help or not.

So the GP's and their fancy "one of " door panels are the only ones where the armrest doesn't have 2 screws to remove and slides forward?

Correct.

Take a look at the OP's picture. There is no pocket in the armrest to pull the door shut by, where the screws are in other models.

That was the first thing I noticed, I didn't realize that aspect of the door panel was different only that it is a different style door panel than the rest of the Gbody's.

There's two screws, obscured by the upper trim
The upper trim I had to damn near rip off, metal retaining hook got bent up
1/2 hour of swearing and cursing, plus a worrying burning electrical smell (disconnected battery) yielded a seized or burnt up electric window motor

Glad I shotgun ordered two new motors, and two new switches, plus the two thermal breakers in the fuse box

I broke the chrome plastic trim bezel for the drivers side power window switch

...does the new one come with it? (Like the passenger side one does?)

While I've got the panels off, gonna obviously clean and lube everything

Should I do inner/outer sweeps/wipes?

Anti rattle kit (they both rattle pretty bad)

Are there rollers on the regulator I should be replacing?

It's a '83 Grand Prix, 58k on the clock

Don't forget the two screws in the handle (raise the handle and you'll see them).
