I don’t think $500 cars exist much anymore even the boring point a to point b types, let alone anything somewhat desireable or “classic” as g-bodies are getting to due to age. Even $1,000 seems to be rare unless it’s a plain jane g-body with severe issues/rust, maybe. And with money printed off as fast as it is lately I doubt that will change, everything is worth more now.

FB prices for our cars has gotten stupid, everyone finds a beater/project g-body and thinks it’s instantly worth 5x what they paid, just take it to a car wash and hose it off, take some pics before the water dries while it’s still on the trailer, viola, you’re rich.

Prices have gone up for sure, cars/parts, but the last year or so it seems to have escalated, I doubt people are getting what they are asking or anywhere close but there is an *ss for every seat as someone once said.

I don't care what my Cutlasses are worth because I'll never sell them and I have no desire to buy any more but to see people ask the price equivalent for a 10k mile car is what bothers me... that line is starting to blur due to noobs/suckers taking the bait and I've seen several questionable cars sell as such and it's cringy.
I was looking for a low mile '83 H/O at one point but the prices have skyrocketed and honestly not worth it to me because it will wind up as a trailer queen... and when you go to an H/OCA meet there are a TON of them there.
Rather put the money into building something unique like the factory Olds 403 Pontiac Can Am I did a couple years ago.
Was fun making something my own with that kind of money and adding features from a g-body like TH2004R/3.73 posi, Lightning Rods and cutting the roof for Hurst Hatches rather than buying something done...

People are asking crazy prices for Gbodies...there is a real nice maroon 442 on Oldsmobile central for 12K in Georgia with an LS in it...some pretty nice cars on that site

One of my first and definitely one of my favorites was my 73' Grand Am and I always wanted to someday do one with a t-top conversion and modify a Can Am rear spoiler to fit and use a "shaker" hood set up if it will fit the engine,
I rarely see any worth while Can Am's or Grand Am's here in MI.
Plus I don't really like the vertical tail lights of the 74' and 75' models.

They do, but you have to have the hookup. Local copier place that we do work for has sold a bunch of their fleet cars in the last year. I bought a Scion XB for $500, and the boss bought 4 Prius for $500 a whack. Fleet guy says that's what they'll give him if he trades them in, so he'd rather sell them to people for commuters.

I'm no fan of Prius, but that dang Scion has kinda spoiled me. I bought it for youngest daughter (who is apparently in no real hurry to get licensed) and have been driving it pretty much everyday since last June. Rotate the Tahoe in now and then, but the 35 MPG in the toaster is hard to beat, Surprisingly roomy, Heat and A/C work, stereo/CD works. Not a rocket, but it's just a commuter. Aside from oil changes, I put an alternator in it a month ago. I figure it's already paid for itself in fuel savings, so it owes me nothing at this point. Hell, I told 'em I'd buy another if they retire any more of them.

I used a shaker from a 74 GTO which has a functional flapper door that I wired to the TH400 kickdown on the gas pedal to operate on half throttle since I'm running a TH2004R
