Thanks. The center console is from a 2013 Impala but I think it came in other years as well. I had to notch it bout half an inch to get it to fit under the dash/ashtray area but no big deal.

    79 Monte bucket seat pic

I've got a 79 Monte with an LS1 and t56. I picked up some 2001 formula Firebird seats from a pawn shop type place and recovered them before bolting them in using stock gbody bucket seat tracks. The side bolsters are nice but it seems like a lower seat than stock. The console is a 2013 Impala...

    79 Monte street beast

Wow, nice. Headlight bezels, grill, and trim look pretty damn good. I'm partial to the 5.3 (I have an LS1 and a t56 in my 79). Junkyard 5.3's are plentiful and cheap and would handle forced induction pretty well. Personally, I focused on suspension pretty heavily in the beginning (control...

    79 Monte street beast

Welcome, I got a 79 Monte myself and it started out the exact same way as yours ha. I have my car registered in a different state so the whole inspection and emissions thing doesn't really apply in my case. Do cats on a 305 matter either way performance-wise? What engine and rear you looking...

    Terrible Day

Damn sorry to hear that. I'm moving and thought about having my Monte commercially hauled the 500 miles, but wondered what my recourse would be if the car was damaged, so I'm doing it myself now ha. I'd send a certified letter (be polite) to the company requesting reimbursement for the...

    ...What Gives?!

I'm also in North Carolina, but over on the coast (Jacksonville-ish). I notice the same thing here as far as bought vs built and there are a couple of reasons that come to mind. -It's less intimidating to have a new car. Many Marines, who you'd think would be a population that would prefer...

    Ls swap, 400hp Goal

Very clean--paint looks great. I like the blacked out trim--been thinking of doing the same to mine but just don't have the balls yet...

    Ls swap, 400hp Goal

Nice! You'll definitely be at 400 rwhp in no time. And good call to V8 Rumble on the ports and intake matching. My LS familiarity sharply declines after 2002. As far as the wife...I've taught mine that without my time alone in the garage, I'm worse to be around, so it's in everyone's best...

    Ls swap, 400hp Goal

Congrats on scoring a 6.0! 400hp should be pretty damn easy with that bad boy, especially if you're going to put in a cam. My thoughts: -The LS1 intake should bolt up to the 6.0. I'm not familiar with the newer LS engines, but I know the 5.3/5.7/6.0 blocks were all pretty much the same on...

    Automotive Stereotypes

Being where I'm at now near a Marine Corps base, I'd say the stereotype in my area has also almost become a culture requirement. Joesregalproject definition of the "truck crowd" almost perfectly describes a lot of the Marines around here, and even if the young Marines weren't truck guys to...
