ok good info, so has anyone done this swap that has part numbers? can the distributor be from a 350, or does it need to be from a 305? the carb will be a bit easier, anything from early 80s without computer controls?

im wanting to swap out the carb and dist. on an 88 SS for non computer controlled things, i have heard a bit about the transmission problems it will give, but i dont know how to fix that, and it was unclear, also what kind of carb and dist. do i get? something for a earlier model chevy?

so i called the number from this site http://www.darklair.com/monte/miscinfo.html and gave them the vin number for the monte, and they said they dont have vin numbers like that on file...???? wtf that makes no sense, did i get someone who knows nothing? they were able to send me the...

so why wouldn't the car pass emissions without the computer controlled carb and dist.? if its tuned right and has cats it should pass right? we are needing to find a way to get my friends ss to run better, and it is eating fuel like no ones business after a carb rebuild, maybe something isnt...

ok i will check some of those things, there is a very good shop in town, where we can get a tuneup done for i think 80$ for an hours worth of work, the truck i sent there one time, came out running like a top, it was great, so i might just send it to them

need help tuning up the qjet E4ME carb on the 88 monte SS we are wroking on, we recently put in a rebuild kit with gaskets etc etc. but how do i know if things are working right, TPS etc etc. also after that, it began getting really bad gas mileage, we changed the plugs, wires, cap,rotor, and...

i dont mind, 85 cutlass's response im just not looking to spend 100-150 dollars right now, maybe later on down the raid, thats why i was thinking remove it for now and then do the conversion kit later on thanks

ac doesnt work very well anymore, and that would be spensive to get recharged, so how easy is it to delete the pump fittings, etc, i know there woudl be HP gains, so that is good let me know thanks
